The cast of the hit series COME ON, COUSIN (LO BIU NEI HO HEA!) caught director Patrick Kong (Yip Lim Sum)'s eyes. He planned to work with Wong Cho Lam, Ivana Wong Yuen Chi, Chiang Chi Kwong, Louis Cheung Kai Chung and Chen Jiajia and added Pakho Chau for his new film MOOT NUI SUN TAM (WITHOUT WOMAN GODLY DETECTIVE). Yuen Chi will play the title lead while Chiang Chi Kwong will be like LOVE UNDERCOVER's Hui Siu Hung character "Fong Sir". However Cho Lam reportedly asked for HK$ 3 million for salary, keeping Yip Lim Sum and the film company at bay.

Cho Lam and Yip Lim Sum have always worked together. In 2006 Yip already invited the then unknown Cho Lam to take part in his MARRIAGE WITH A FOOL (DUK GA SI OI). In 2009 Cho Lam was on the rise as he starred in the James Yuen Sai Sun directed SHORT OF LOVE (NGAI JAI DOR CHING). At the time his salary was 500,000. Last year Cho Lam and Yip Lim Sum worked together again on DELETE MY LOVE (DELETE OI YUN) and Cho Lam was already make 1.5 million. Yet this year he doubled his price and asked for 3 million. If the film will be a co-production, with the lead's demand of 3 million the film will still have a chance at breaking even. Yet for a pure Hong Kong film it will exceed the budget.

Yip Lim Sum yesterday admitted that the salary issue was still being negotiated. He was contacting Cho Lam's company and himself for a "two front attack" in hopes of motivating Cho Lam with his sincerity. "I wouldn't give up yet. He won't be a guest star, he will have a role. (Will you get someone to take Cho Lam's place?" No, no one can replace himself. I am thinking of ways to take care of the money." Yip did not directly answer if Cho Lam's salary took a big jump, he only said that Cho Lam was busy with a Mainland program and his wedding preparation. He joked that he will give a big wedding gift and reduce his own salary. Although Cho Lam's salary went up, he was not about the money everything. Lately he took time to help many new directors and assist with their script reviews.

As the loser Alex took punches from the ladies with boxing gloves.

Were they confident about the box office? Chin Yu immediately asked everyone to support the new film more. This was her first film with action scenes. "In the entire film I kept getting beat up, I even spent a week on wires. (Have you been scared off?) Now when I see the action director I would be a little scared, because every time he punched he would stop right at my eyelashes. However it was a lot of fun, it was a new experience." Alex said that in the film he did not have any action scene. He was only responsible for the comedy, which was very different from his everyday image. Luckily he had help from a bowl like hairstyle. He said, "I look like an idiot, when I saw the poster even I couldn't recognize myself. (Was your rumored girlfriend Linah Matsuoka able to recognize you?) I believe many people wouldn't be able to recognize me."

She took the money without any hesitation, danced and removed her kimono to show off her sexy back, shoulders and legs. She said, "At the start, the company worried. Yet later I understood the film's meaning and depth. In addition it was a breakthrough character, which made me really want to challenge myself. I only took a Yip Lim Sum (Patrick Kong) film with fight scenes, for now it doesn't even have a script yet. The story probably won't be LOVE UNDERCOVER."

Reportedly TVB in order to support him made Ron Ng Cheuk Hei a supporting character in LADY SOUR (CHO NEUNG JI). Him Jai denied the rumor immediately. "Ron is the real lead, he has more screen time. (Is Ron intended on leaving?) I don't know, but everyone had a lot of fun and got along at work. He didn't reveal to me that he wants to leave TVB." Him Jai again denied that he and girlfriend Tavia Yeung Yi will wed, describing the rumor as only entertainment news. For now work comes first.

In addition our preferences are very different, she likes what I don't like, what I say is wrong she would say is right!" Speaking of Ella Koon Yun Na's marriage registration, Pakho said, "I don't know, I only knew that she was engaged but of course congratulations to her. (What gift did you give her?) She said that before the shoot, the film company arranged for a dart champion to coach her, she hit the bull's eye twice and felt very pleased. She might keep up with the hobby, feeling that as long as she practiced more it would not be hard for her. In addition, Kabby has already begun work on her new film MERMAID (MEI YUN YU), but after two days of work she still did not know what role she was playing. [2014.11.28] ROSE CHAN PANICS IN BED SCENE WITH LIU KAI CHI

The Rose Chan Ka Wun and Pakho Chau starred film I SELL LOVE (FAN MAI OI) was based on a play and best selling novel. It not only won "Best Editing" at the 2014 Barcelona International Film Festival but also won the Indian Cine Film Festival jury prize Best Film.

In her first lead role Chan Ka Wun in the film played an assisted dating girl, who for money decided to step on the road of an escort. Later she ran into a doctor who changed her mind in Pakho Chau. She said, "This character's value was doing anything for money. After running into the very positive thinking Pakho Chau, I was inspired that life could have many times to be concerned with like family and friends. There is no need to just live for money."

As for her opinion of assisted dating girls, she admitted that everywhere in this world would have social problems. She felt there was no right or now, only necessity for each person. The original playwright conversed with over 200 assisted dating girls for an understanding of their state of mind. She said, "Many felt that coming out to work was no big deal. They just smiled and got paid, they felt that money was easy to make. They didn't have to be taken advantage of so they started assisted dating. This time the character was a mix of many different assisted dating girls, so after this shoot I felt a lot of different struggles."

Chan Ka Wun in the film not only had intimate scenes with Pakho Chau but also a bed scene with the 59 year old Liu Kai Chi. She said, "Uncle Chi has quite a presence. When I saw him as a very professional elder, early in the shoot I was a little scared. Actually the director needed her character to be panicky. It was very different from the fight scenes before, so the contrast was enormous."

Playing a doctor in the film, Pakho Chau said that the character was very positive. Like the character he too liked to lecture. He said, "I begin to cut back, because those who like to listen would. Those who don't would feel I am despicable! When Shiga Lin got into the business, I always gave her a lot of suggestions. She is now starting to be a big girl, if I still nag I would elevate to another level into an elder. I don't want to be an elder, I only want to be a colleague."

Chow Yun Fat, Nick Cheung Ka Fai and Angela Wang Shiling yesterday attended the film FROM VEGAS TO MACAU 2 (DOH SING FUNG WONG 2) press conference in Beijing. In the trailer Fat Gor and Cheung Ka Fai, Shawn Yue Man Lok all held their own in chases and explosions. In one scene Cheung Ka Fai viciously "hit" Fat Gor once. Cheung Ka Fai revealed that "hitting" fat Gor was actually Fat Gor's own idea. "This scene wasn't originally in the script, but he forced me to 'hit' him. He even grabbed my hand to 'hit' him on his head. He just got me killed. Because so many people like him, as soon as I 'hit' him, I may become 'public enemy'!"

Cheung Ka Fai praised Fat Gor and recalled when he first started in the business. "Once Master (Danny) Lee Sau Yin and Chow Yun Fat worked on THE KILLER (DIP HUET SEUNG HUNG). I went to visit the set, in the end I neglected Brother Sau and kept staring at Fat Gor. This collaboration is almost like a beautiful dream." Fat Gor said, "I actually am very envious of Cheung Ka Fai because I might have to make 7 films to be able to win a Best Actor. Yet he made one film he won 7 Best Actors. I am really dying of envy!"

Cheung Ka Fai and Wang Shiling played "LOST IN THAILAND Father and Daughter". Wang Shiling was asked if she liked this father. She bashfully answered, "I like both real papa and fake papa." Fat Gor said that Wang Shiling was this film's "goddess" and "queen". "Everyone on the set like her. Everyday in the afternoon she had to nap. So I just sat and waited for her to wake up to continue the shoot." Fat Gor in the film even challenged Andy Lau Tak Wa's classic song CHINESE, which Cheung Ka Fai made fun of "singing like (Jacky) Cheung Hok Yau". Fat Gor even sang live and performed his "trilling" ability. Cheung Ka Fai praised his singing as great.

John Woo (Ng Yu Sum)'s return to directing after six years, the epic war romance THE CROSSING I (TAI PING LUN: LUEN SAI FAU SUN) yesterday held a press conference in Beijing. Director Ng Yu Sum led Zhang Ziyi, Takeshi Kaneshiro (Gum Sing Mo), Song Hye-Kyo, Huang Xiaoming, Tong Dawei, Faye Yu Feihong, Tony Yang and others in attendance. At the press conference the "love as the war spreads" version trailer, he admitted that he always wanted to make an epic romance. This time visual effects of the war, the pier and others cost 400 million. He finally got his wish to fulfill. The press conference was thoughtful decorated as an important set in the film, a retro photography studio. The director and the stars immediately took a "family photo".

The actors at the event had a cheerful reunion like they have returned to the set. Zhang Ziyi, Song Hye-Kyo and Gum Sing Mo admitted that they were very happy to see each other again. The production was very harmonious and very comfortable. Song Hye-Kyo even praised both her co-stars Gum Sing Mo and Huang Xiaoming as great actors, she was very fortunate to work with both. Song Hye-Kyo was the most sentimental about the Putonghua dialogue. Because she wanted to play this Shanghai born and raised rich girl, she hoped to be able to perform in Putonghau. She also hired a tutor. Thus she was even more able to get into her character. It was the greatest challenge. Her on screen husband Huang Xiaoming supported Song Hye-Kyo and said that she was professional, her Putonghua was very accurate. He revealed that his character was very manly and would protect her like a princess. Gum Sing Mo was very happy to be able to work with the director again, saying that the director often gave him many and great performance opportunities. However this character was very difficult for him. When asked where his difficulty lay, he said that everyone will be able to see it after the film's release.

Ng Yu Sum recalled the production experience and said that THE CROSSING completed his years of dreaming about making a romantic film. In order to perfectly bring the epic in his mind to life, he not only supervised the prop team's 1 to 1 scale revival of the Tai Ping ferry, constructions of giant Shanghai and Keelung piers; when he was commanding tens of thousands of people in a major scene, he also asked the assistant director to explain the scene to each and other extra in the crowd and was not lax at all about the control of details. Ng Yu Sum even revealed the meaning of the film's English title THE CROSSING.

THE MONKEY KING 2 (SAI YAU GEI ji SUEN NG HUNG SAM DA BAK GWUT JING) has already been scheduled for a Lunar New Year 2016 release. After Aaron Kwok Fu Sing went from the "Demon King" to the "Monkey King", the film yesterday made a heavyweight announcement of the addition of the international Best Actress Gong Li. She will try her first 3D action film production and play the White Bone Spirit.

Playing the Queen of the Demons White Bone Spirit will be an all new attempt for Gong Li. She said, "I have given my first 3D film to MONKEY 2, the film will have a lot of 3D production and fight scenes. All of which to me is fresh and curious. I believe that the production will be just like this film, full of fantasy color. I hope my White Bone Spirit will be a demon with the presence of a queen."

Reportedly, the casting of the White Bone Spirit role took a year. The producer admitted that the Gong Li's natural born queen presence was exactly like the classic demon queen White Bone Spirit. Her acting could even master this extremely challenging character.

Sing Sing in order to be at his best for his first monkey film already began to secretly train for several months before the film's official start. Gong Li has also already studied of a lot of material and began in depth study of each version of the "White Bone Spirit".

This will also be Gong Li and Sing Sing's first collaboration. Director Soi Cheang Po Shui said that this will be a battle between the most charming Sun Wukong and the White Bone Spirit with the most queen presence. The on screen battle between the handsome god and goddess will conceivably be even more entertaining than a romantic film.

[2014.11.27] SONG HYE-KYO CHOOSES BOTH TAKESHI KANESHIRO AND HUANG XIAOMING

courtesy of singtao.com

The John Woo (Ng Yu Sum) directed romance THE CROSSING I (TAI PING LUN) two days ago held its press conference in Shanghai. He explained how he chose the more compatible coupling for the three kings and the three queens. With Song Hye-Kyo for example, he put other actors' photos next to hers to see which one was the most suitable, the best looking. However Ng Yu Sum admitted that often casting was based on inspiration.

Song Hye-Kyo was asked in real life would she choose Takeshi Kaneshiro (Gum Sing Mo) or Huang Xiaoming for a boyfriend? She said that both were extraordinarily charming. She was greedy too and hoped to choose both. Gum Sing Mo was asked about his mysterious whereabouts in the past 3 years, he explained that it was only because he made less movies lately. As long as he ran into a good chance he would try it, he never planned on how many movies to make. Thus everyone felt he was more mysterious.

Wong Cho Nam, Max Zhang Jin, Alex Lam Tak Shun and Stephen Shiu Jr. two nights ago attended the film RISE OF THE LEGEND (WONG FEI HUNG ji YING HUNG YAU MUNG) premiere. Director Roy Chow Hin Yeung did not attend because his wife TO Chi Long was in the delivery room about to give birth. Cho Nam said that in this action film he only had ten seconds of fight scene. He said that his appearance was to relax everyone. In the film he hit 24 Herbs member Phat, but he had no fight scene with Eddie Peng Yu-Yen. He only molested him and rub his chest, much to the envy of many female viewers. Speaking of his TVB series' COME ON, COUSIN rating drop and his marriage proposal at the TVB Anniversary show also did not help the rating, Cho Nam said that he was not certain about the series rating, but the online hit rate was very high. Did he feel Hong Kong Television's launch has affected the ratings. He said, "Knowing your enemy's and your own strength (is the surest way to be invincible), I don't know about their air time, if they broadcast with boxes I believe they won't directly affect rating. Television is another matter." He said that sometimes he would watch HKTV series. He revealed that he has already scheduled for his wedding for Valentine's Day and his wedding banquet at Disney the next day. The wedding parties have not been decided, but he has already asked Ivana Wong Yuen Chi's boyfriend Eric to design his wedding invitation. What will the wedding budget be? He said, "I don't care about that, the most important is the happiness of the other half, the parents and friends who come to have fun."

As for claims that Cho Nam actually already proposed before the TVB Anniversary, he said, "I dare to swear to Haven, I have never proposed before. I think friends who say that probably don't know what getting married is, you wouldn't propose first then talking about getting married." Did they already have a mutual understanding about the wedding? He said that he has always said that they were already talking about marriage, but to girls they would not propose first before talking about whether to wed or not. Even with a mutual understanding, he still needed permission from Leanne Li Yanan's parents. Even the girl expected to wed, she wanted to know about the surprise proposal. He admitted that actually in July he already asked her parents and talked with Yanan's parents, but he booked Disney last month since he could not be too late with that. Cho Nam said that he chose a Valentine's Day to save because both days were on the same day.

Zhang Jin congratulated the director on becoming a father and wished them a smooth birth. He said that in the film the fights were fierce, he also busted his eye. His wife Ada Choi Siu Fun did not attend because she had to take care of their daughters. Speaking of Choi Siu Fun's resignation from the children's fashion business, Zhang Jin said that his wife was very busy. She had limited energy and needed to rest. he said, "We have to find time on our own to date, life has to return to its original nature." He said that he did not complain to his wife about her being too busy. He even praised her for being very alert. She knew that she had to make couple time so she set aside business that had nothing to do with television or film for now.
