Director John Woo (Ng Yu Sum), actors Zhang Ziyi, Tong Dawei, Huang Xiaoming and Angeles Woo (Ng Fei Ha) earlier appeared on the cable program Film Montage in Cannes and shared their THE CROSSING (TAI PING LUN) experience. Zhang Ziyi and Tong Dawei were good friends. This time in the film they played a couple. Ziyi said that they trusted and took care of each other, thus the shoot became even easier and felt very comfortable. In the film they were not the usual couple, but had an innocent romance. They depended on each other for their lives and any intimate scene would be very strange. Speaking of all the tears during the shoot, Ziyi hoped to use emotions to move viewers.

Huang Xiaoming worked with Song Hye-Kyo this time. He admitted that many were envious. At first he was a little nervous, but now they were already good friends. Huang Xiaoming during the shoot had a leg injury. Although his character was originally crippled, working on a battle scene with an injury was very horrifying. Perhaps before his footing was firm he would step on the trigger and the explosion would hit him. Thus during the stunts he had to tolerate the pain. Would his girlfriends' heart ache? He pointed out that his family's hearts all ached, and they urged him not to make so many action films. However he could not choose good characters and could only wait for them. He also said that he wanted to try many different characters and did not mind nude scenes. "No problem! Why not? As long as the film is good, the character requires it then I am fine."

Ziyi also praised Director Woo for working for 20 hours without getting tired. They often urged him to rest more. Huang Xiaoming pointed out that the director was suffering a lot, he was only excited when he made movies and ate. The director loved meat and drinking, thus after each shoot they would take the director to dinner and drinking. Ng Yu Sum revealed that this new film completed his romantic film wish. In the future he would like to be able to work with Tsui Hark on a wu xia film, because he was a genius and had many innovative ideas. He hoped to break through genre limits and make a big Hong Kong film. Aside from Hong Kong spirit, he would also train Hong Kong youth's international technique and cultivate film talent through it.
