[2011.02.09] JOSIE HO RECEIVES HER FATHER'S ENCOURAGEMENT

Josie Ho Chiu Yi with DREAM HOME received a Hong Kong Film Award Best Actress nomination. She was at father Stanley Ho Hung Sun's home when she received the news. She immediately gave the good news to Mr. Ho and told her old man "I did it". The Gambling King although had lawsuits with his second and third families, he was still very happy for his daughter. He even said to Chiu Yi, "I really want to see you succeed." Mr. Ho even encouraged Chiu Yi to continue to work hard on her acting and make good movies.

Chiu Yi also thanked her father, sister and family for their trust, for this film to be able to be completed. Chiu Yi pointed out that this film earlier participated in many European film festivals, received nominations and won awards, but she was the happiest about receiving the
nomination in Hong Kong because this was a good Hong Kong film. Was she confident about winning? Chiu Yi said at first she knew the competition would be very strong, but earlier she won Best Actress and special effect awards in Spain. Now her confidence was stronger. Chiu Yi said that she would like to thank the director the most. Each team of this fil was hand picked, but they needed a director to lead them in order to be able to show their new side.

Carina Lau Ka Ling in DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME (DIK YUN KIT ji TUNG TIN DAI GOK) did not have a large role but she received a Best Actress nomination. Ka Ling said, "Don't scare me like this?" Ka Ling said that she was very happy about the nomination because this production was very tough. This character's look was unique, the head dress was very heavy. During the shoot she constantly had to rest. The nomination was worth all the hardship. As for confidence, she said that she already treated the nomination as a victory. She was also happy for the film's 13 nominations.

Tang Wei was nominated with CROSSING HENNESSY (YUET MOON HIN NEI SI). She was promoting LATE AUTUMN in Korea. When she received the news she was surprised. She thanked the award and the jury, director Ivy Ho (Ong Sai) and Jacky Cheung Hok Yau. If she would not have to work she would take time to attend. Miriam Yeung Chin Wa with LOVE IN A PUFF (CHI MING YU CHUN GIU) was nominated. Chin Wa said that she was very happy. She liked this film very movie, this nomination brought her a lot of encouragement and confidence. She would put more effort into the sequel this year. As for confidence, Chin Wa honestly said that she of course would like to win. "It's Best Actress, but on my film career I still need a lot of time to learn. I am already very happy with the nomination. With the strong competition, I am already very satisfied with the "nomination" admission ticket. I would happily attend the event and wouldn't think too much."

Currently working in Beijing, Fiona Sit Hoi Kei screamed when she learned about her BREAK UP CLUB (FUN SAU SHUET OI NEI) nomination. This time she was very happy about her first Best Actress nomination. She said that the competition was very strong, but whether she would win or lose she would thank Jaycee Chan (Fong Cho Ming), Barbara Wong Chun Chun and Lawrence Cheng Tan Shui.
