Alan Mak Siu Fai and Felix Chong Man Keung directed film THE LOST BLADESMAN (GUAN YUNCHANG) stars Donnie Yen Chi Tan and Jiang Wen. Jiang Wen's costume as Cao Cao was unveiled yesterday for the first time. Jiang Wen as Cao Cao in the film will perform a "heroic duo meeting" that will both be dramatic and action with Guan Yu. Director Mak Siu Fai said that he just heard LET THE BULLETS FLY's Mainland box office already breaking 600 million, he hoped Jiang Wen this time would continue to let "Chi Tan" (sounds like bullet) fly.

Mak Siu Fai said that THE LOST BLADESMAN theme will be the "heroic duo meeting" between Cao Cao and Guan Yu. After Yen Chi Tan was confirmed to play Guan Yu, the character of Cao Cao was written according to Jiang Wen's image because the entire creative team thought Jiang Wen was the only choice to play Cao Cao. Yet earlier Jiang Wen was working on LET THE
BULLETS FLY and no one believed that he would join THE LOST BLADESMAN. By chance, producer Liang Ting learned that Cao Cao was a character that Jiang Wen has always wanted to play. Thus she and the directors also learned from Liu Bei's invitation to Zhuge Liang in ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS and paid three visits to Jiang Wen to play Cao Cao.

Working on LET THE BULLETS FLY's post production, Jiang Wen was touched and agreed to join the two directors. Chong Man Keung said that only until Jiang Wen appeared on the set he realized it was the real. Although Cao Cao's costume was in black and not elegant at all, people
could still sense Cao Cao's domineering ways. Famous Hong Kong designer Shirley Chan Ku Fang who was the film's costume designer said that THE LOST BLADESMAN's overall style was more realistic. Costume material and design inspirations came from historical information. Jiang Wen who rarely performed in costume gave people a very fresh impression after the first successful costume fitting.
