With the 29th Annual Hong Kong Film Awards only seven days away, everyone's attention will be on the winners. A movie aside from important figures like leads and directors, supporting players also are necessary. As the saying goes, "Although the Peony is good, it still needs green leaves for support." This year's Best Supporting Actress nominees include BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS (SUP YUET WAI SING)'s Chris Lee Yuchun and Fan Bingbing, RED CLIFF II (CHET BIK KUET JIN TIN HA)'s Vicki Zhao Wei, LOOK FOR A STAR (YAU LUNG HEI FUNG)'s Denise Ho Wan Si, and ACCIDENT (YI OI)'s Michelle Ye (Yip Shuet). All five people's potential should not be overlooked.

Speaking of advantage, among the five Best Supporting Actress nominees, BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS has two with film new comer Lee Yuchun and veteran film actress Fan Bingbing. Shuttling between the male ensemble in BODYGUARDS they still gave decent performance and received nominations. BODYGUARDS' box office in Hong Kong made 16 million, and also received 19 nominations in 16 categories. Its unprecedented strength should not be ignored.

As for the substance school choice, Zhao Wei was definitely it. As a Mainland Best Actress, her acting has already been recognized. Zhao Wei in RED took risks as a woman to help her country in battle. Her heroics could rival male leads Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Takeshi Kaneshiro (Gum Sing Mo). With the Hong Kong box office of 23 million, her chance to win has been elevated. First time nominee Ho Wan Si's performance in LOOK changed the audience's impression of her. Her heavy feminine character was refreshing and opened eyes. Yip Shuen in ACCIDENT also changed her genre. In order to bring life to the tough woman character, she had a foul mouth. Her new performance erased her past flower vase impression. Her chance to win was decent as well.

Last year's Hong Kong Film Award Best Actress, Paw Hee Ching also has her favorite for Best Supporting Actress this year. She picked RED CLIFF II's Zhao Wei. She felt that her acting was outstanding and had a lot of chance to win. Paw Hee Ching said, "Zhao Wei achieved the heroics, I felt that she performed very well." As for the Hong Kong Film Award Best Supporting Actor Yuen Wah, he picked Fan Bingbing's performance in BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS. He said, "The five nominated female stars are decent, indeed the choice is hard. However if I have to choose, I will choose Fan Bingbing who I have worked with. I feel Her performing in BODYGUARDS is great."
