In the April 29 release IP MAN 2, lead actor Donnie Yen Chi Tan and Sammo Hung Kam Bo's fight became everyone's focus. When Chi Tan mentioned this scene he was sentimental. "After Hung Kam Bo, unless Jackie Chan, Lee Nin Kit (Jet Li) come back to fight with me I really don' know who I can fight with." The invincible is the loneliest.

After SPL (SAT POR LONG) Chi Tan again fought with Sammo, which also became one of IP MAN 2's great selling point. Chi Tan said, "Sammo has been very exciting in both fight scenes and action designs. For a 60 year old person at his weight, he not only could fight but also could flip in the air. He is amazing! He and I didn't have too many fights this time, but I also thought, who else could fight with me?" Chi Tan also said that he has not run into an opponent with the intensity of Hung Kam Bo for years. Thus he wsa particularly happy during the exchanges. "You know just from looking at his size! I think unless I fight with Big Brother Jackie Chan or Lee Nin Kit in another fight again, I won't be able to experience this excitement. Thus from now on I don't know who I will be fighting with, how lonely is that!"

[2010.04.01] JACKY CHEUNG TRAINS HIS MIND FOR DEDUCTIVE REASONING?

courtesy of takungpao.com

The Jacky Cheung Hok Yau and Tang Wei starred CROSSING HENNESSY (YUET MOON HIN NEI SI) opens today, but last year the film has already held advanced screenings on over ten screens. The response has been overwhelming and every show has been sold out. It was a shot of confidence, but Hok Yau said that he would not predict the box office. He only knew that the film trained him into a detective mind.

In the film Hok Yau and Tang Wei were detective novel fans. They entertained themselves through deductive reasoning in matters around them and their relationship was born. Hok Yau said, "This film introduced me to many detective novels in a few short months. Whenever I am waiting on the set I would read in detail, thus my detective mind training began." Earlier he and Tang Wei after attending the premiere left on the freight elevator. Yet the elevator rose and almost stopped on every floor. When the door opened, every floor had deliveries on big carts or restaurant cleaning services. When each one of them saw Hok Yau and Tang Wei they would be stunned, then screamed at Hok Yau, "AH--Hok Yau!" Then they strongly waved. Hok Yau jokingly deduced, "Actually these service people weren't real service people. They were viewers who just won at the premiere to play employees and pedestrians on different floors. If they saw us then they would have a chance at a cash prize to eat all over Hennessy Road!"

[2010.04.01] BRUCE LEE'S GRANDDAUGHTER IS PROUD OF HER GRANDFATHER

courtesy of takungpao.com

The Hong Kong International Film Festival in commemoration of the superstar of a generation Bruce Lee held a series of events. Two nights ago at the Cultural Center a Bruce Lee 2010 exhibit opening ceremony took place. Bruce Lee's widow Linda Lee Cadwell, daughter Shannon Lee Heung Yi and granddaughter attended.

Lee Heung Yi said that she has never seen many of the displayed items. She said that her father Bruce Lee was the "only", no one would be like him again. He not only invented Jeet Kune Do, promoted kung fu but also inspired others. Although he has already passed for years, he is still very popular now.

Lee Heung Yi knew that Hong Kong is planning the construction of a Bruce Lee museum. She has also seen the design contest work. The current design will turn Bruce Lee's former home into the one that she remembered from her childhood, with a screening room and coffee shop. She would gladly donate her father's items in coordination. She said that Hong Kong was her father's home, which was very important to her as well. Seattle is also considering a Bruce Lee museum construction.

Lee Heung Yi said that she will stay in Hong Kong for four days. She will go for Cantonese Dim Sum. Shrimp dumplings and pork dumplings are her favorite. She said that her daughter is now seven, but she too is proud to have a grandfather like Bruce Lee.

[2010.03.31] CHARLENE CHOI FORCES A SMILE AT THE BEAUTY ON DUTY PREMIERE

courtesy of singtao.com

courtesy of on.cc

Charlene Choi Chuek Yin last night attended the premiere of BEAUTY OF DUTY (MEI LAI MUK LING), where she strongly faced the media. "Everyday is a new rumor, I really don't have anything to say. Only time will tell." As for her mother once accepting 5 million cash as wedding gift from the Cheng family, she stressed, "No such thing, it's not true."

Reportedly the divorce has turned her image negative. Ah Sa bravely expressed willingness to accept the consequences. "I won't be unhappy over untrue reports, I will keep working hard. (Cheng Chung Kei was hurting himself?) Ask him, it's not true." Reported a media friend sold her out. She said, "I never suspected my friend. Earlier I said I have an idea, but I didn't say I have to find whoever or think about investigating. (Industry insider?) A friend, I don't need to explain. I don't want to hurt friends and people around me." As for all the speculations about her divorce, she said, "I already said due to an understanding we broke up."

Reportedly her mother was upset that Cheng Chung Kei was unwilling to buy a property for her and her mother so her mother connected Ah Sa to a Mainland rich kid. Ah Sa defended herself and said, "None of that is true, no comment, you can ask Cheng Chung Kei himself. (No boyfriend or third party?) No such thing. Lately I am very troubled, but after these few days I shouldn't be as unhappy, my emotions have already recovered. I shouldn't let untrue reports affect my mood."

Sandra Ng Kwan Yu was asked whether she expressed concern for Ah Sa. "Of course, as soon as I saw the marriage certificate I called Cheng Chung Kei. I told him to handle the crisis as soon as possible. (Do you feel it's regrettable?) Life is like that, they met each other when the timing wasn't right. When they met it was very romantic, otherwise they wouldn't have gotten married. I have told Ah Sa not to stress herself out. (Do you believe they have any third party?) Definitely not, I have been in the business for so many years, I know all the signs. Both are my friends, earlier we have worked together. They definitely don't. I believe in their character. (Do you believe that Cheng Chung Kei would mutilate himself?) No, heartbroken definitely, I would loan him my shoulder."

[2010.03.31] ANDY LAU SWEET TALKS HIS WIFE

courtesy of singtao.com

Since his marriage was exposed last August, Andy Lau Tak Wa promoted his film FUTURE X-COPS (MEI LOI GAING CHAT) for the first time two days ago in Taiwan. Although Wa Jai tried Tai Chi to avoid talking about his personal life, when he appeared on the program HERE COMES KANGXI he could not stop the "interrogation" from Little S (Tsui Hei Tai) and Cai Kang-yong. Big S (Barbie Hsu) revealed that she never saw Wa Jai on the phone on the set. Wa Jai honestly said that he did not have a habit of "reporting in", but admitted that after work at the hotel he would call his wife and even say "Love you".

Wa Jai at first refused to answer, but Little S kept at it. "Did you spend the Lunar New Year with your wife? Was this year as a father?" Wa Jai deliberately avoided sensitive words like "father" and only said, "I spent it with my family." Little S kept asking, "Do you and your wife hold hands when you are sleeping?" Wa Jai laughed, "It's too private, I won't tell you." Although he had a new film release, Wa Jai expressed that he would not take his wife to see it. In the future he also would not take his wife to public places in order to maintain their privacy.

Last night at the premiere, the film company arranged for top Taiwan child star Little Brain to meet with him. 23 years ago, Wa Jai worked with Little Brain's father Siu Ban Ban on the film THE MAGIC CRYSTAL (MOR FEI CHUI). When Wa Jai saw Little Brain, he thought he was Siu Ban Ban and joked, "Heavens! How come you haven't changed?"

The media asked Wa Jai about his secret marriage again. He said, "After my marital status was exposed I was unaffected, I won't retire from show business because of that either."

Janice Man Wing Shan, Chapman To Man Jat and Rain Li Choi Wa two nights ago attended the film PLANET 51 premiere. Janice Man and Ah Jat provided their voices to the film. Rumors that due to a lack of work she went to help at her boyfriend's new store baffled Janice Man because her boyfriend did not open any new store. She expressed that although her job was different from before as all jobs were company arranged, differences would be certain. However she had her company had quite a chemistry and she too wanted to improve. Thus more jobs might not be a good thing. She felt that the company arrangement has been great and she was very happy. Was she worried about comparison with AngelaBaby? She stressed that now she is still able to save money. Although she wanted to buy a home she was very comfortable now. She also hoped that she would be better and better.

Li Choi Wa arrived her god sister, Daneil Lam Siu Ming's former wife Chiu Suet Ying and announced that her relationship with Universe has ended. She joked that she would like her boyfriend after reading the report to give her 8 figures to cheer her up. She expressed that she has already signed a two year management company with Golden Scene's Tsang Lai Fun. She denied that she left Universe because all of the company resources were rumored to be allocated to Elanne Kwong Yuek Lam. She insisted that she had her own car and had hair and make up sponsorship. She did not use any company resource. She left because she was at a film company but she did not make a movie in over two years. The contract termination negotiation has been going for years and troubled her, but she expressed that she left her old company under a very peaceful atmosphere and thanked Universe for taking care of her for years.

[2010.03.31] PAW HEE CHING NEARLY FAINTED FROM ALL THE RAGE

courtesy of takungpao.com

The Jacky Cheung Hok Yau and Tang Wei starred CROSSING HENNESY (YUET MOON HIN NEI SI) also starred veteran actors Paw Hee Ching, Chu Mimi and Danny Lee Sau Yin. Sister Paw and Sister Mimi even performed a jealousy fueled "memoir of a fight over a guy", Sister Paw was so upset that she fainted and was hospitalized. The gentle and mild mannered Sister Paw this time had to play a sassy and harsh boss lady; the unforgiving Sister Mimi played Sister Paw's older sister who always went along with what her little sister said, a gentle lady who knew how to take care of people. Lee Sau Yin who was a righteous cop as soon as he stood out this time had to play a sweet talking penny pincher. All of them were convincing and funny.

In the film Sister Paw and Lee Sau Yin developed a twilight romance, but Sister Paw discovered that her own sister Chu Mimi was dating Brother Sau privately and immediately insulted her in public. Hok Yau watched the scene in which Sister Paw got upset and fainted. He joked that Sister Paw's performance was too realistic. "I am very worried about Sister Paw. She has high blood pressure, I am truly afraid that she would be too excited and really faint." Sister Paw who has not been so emotional for a long time truly felt a little dizzy. After the shoot the crew immediately helped her to the side as she rested for half a hour before continuing the shoot. Sister Mimi joked, "I should pass some of my hot air to Sister Paw, so she has plenty to yell at me!"

courtesy of takungpao.com

The Wong Jing directed, Andy Lau Tak Wa, Barbie Hsu (Tsui Hei Woon), Fan Bingbing, Xu Jiao starred FUTURE X-COPS (MEI LOI GAING CHAT) will open soon. Lau Tak Wa and director Wong Jing have worked together for years and have always had chemistry. Instead his first collaboration with Big S Tsui Hei Woon and Xu Jiao has been very refreshing.

In the film Lau Tak Wa played a cop who travels back in time and is responsible for investigating and protecting the childhood version of a future energy doctor. He disguises himself as an ordinary traffic cop and has many scenes with Xu Jiao who played his daughter. Lau Wa said, "Xu Jiao has a lot of acting potential. When I saw her performance in CJ7 (CHEUNG GONG CHUT HO) I was certain that she will be a big star."

Xu Jiao was very excited about working with Lau Wa. "I feel very honored to be able to play the daughters of two superstars (Stephen) Chow Sing Chi and (Andy) Lau Tak Wa." When asked which "papa" treated her better, she said, "Mr. Chow is very serious but would really teach me how to act. Lau Tak Wa is very easygoing, often during the shoot he would cheer me up so my performance would be more natural. I very much cherish my experience from performing with them."

[2010.03.31] PLENTY OF FIRE IN FIRE OF CONSCIENCE

courtesy of takungpao.com

Leon Lai Ming and Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai) starred in FIRE OF CONSCIENCE (FOR LUNG), which premiered two days ago in Beijing and won many raves. The entire film's 100 minute nonstop gun fights and action chases complemented each other and brought the audience a lot of fun. Lai Ming's life risking performance even had shades of Jackie Chan in the past. Yam Yin Chai as the police force's refined scum earned the audience's sympathy.

At the same time, Lai Ming's "Brother Sharp" look, well trained agility and sharp observation power were full of tension and absolutely had a chance to compete for the Hong Kong Film Award Best Actor. Many viewers felt that Yam Yin Chai's performance was no less than Lai Ming's. his refined scum performance was his best in recent years. Yet Yam Yin Chai complained that making FIRE OF CONSCIENCE scared him. "The director said that he would give us a best life risking award; let's not mention the running on the streets with guns, I also had to put on fire retardant to fight with Lai Ming in the fire and ram through glass. With shattered glass all over the floor Lai Ming and I had to roll of it. Thus I was very nervous, I didn't even have the guts to ask how much would the insurance cover."

courtesy of takungpao.com

Lau Ching Wan and Amy Kwok Oi Ming yesterday attended a 3D television production press conference. Ching Wan honestly said that he would like to be a 3D Best Actor, but few would say that the production would be 3D when they hand over the script. He believed that 3D films all use different technology during production and would not affect the actor's performance.

Lately Ching Wan has been working with Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai) and Denise Ho Wan Si on Johnnie To Kei Fung's new film DUET MING GUM (ROB LIFE GOLD), but without any scene together they would not see each other. Instead he and Lo Hoi Peng shared more scenes. Although he has not worked with Brother Peng for years, he felt that Brother Peng was still very alert, fierce and funny. Siu Chai earlier revealed that Ah To asked him to get a receding hair line. Did Ah To ask Ching Wan to do the same? Ching Wan joked, "I am already receding a little, but he didn't specifically ask me to do anything." He said, "The script is constantly being edited. Although I understand what is being shot, film has life. Maybe I have to wait until after the wrap and editing to know what kind of movie this will be."

In addition, his friend Francis Ng Chun Yu will go to court on April 1. Was Chun Yu nervous about the court date? Ching Wan said, "No, He has always looked very calm!" Ching Wan also revealed that Chun Yu is working in the Mainland. He hoped that after this, Chun Yu would be able to be calmer and clearer in facing everything.

When asked whether he experienced father daughter relationship in real life, he said, "Father and daughter relationship? I can understand by watching my Papa and my sister. (Have you thought about having a child?) Of course, but I don't want to talk about my family openly again."

Did the secret wedding affect his trust? Wa Jai said that he would never live for the people who did not believe in him. He was still the same old him, without any change. Wa Jai felt that among the younger set Nicholas Tse Ting Fung was decent. Every time he saw him he would urge him not to take so many risks because he had a family and not by himself. In addition, about Zhang Ziyi's donation storm, Wa Jai felt that she was a good person.

courtesy of takungpao.com

The Miriam Yeung Chin Wa, Shawn Yue Man Lok starred, Pang Ho Cheung directed film LOVE IN A PUFF (CHI MING YU CHUN GIU) will open soon. In the film Yue Man Lok's Cheung Chi Ming and Chin Wa's Yu Chun Giu are two smokers who meet in a back alley due to smoking. Because of the film's category III rating, Chin Wa again becomes a category III star. She expresses that she does not mind becoming a "category III star". Most importantly she supports the director's creation.

Chin Wa in reality does not smoke and has asthma. She expresses that she tried to smoke three cigarettes in a hour, after that not only was her throat sore but she also lost her appetite and was dizzy. She says, "I feel the most extreme scene is when I yell at my on screen boyfriend for a minute straight." Ah Lok is a smoker but he also says that one night he tried to smoke ten packs in a row. After the shoot not only were his lips black but his entire body smelled like smoke. He had to keep drinking water. Actually the smoking scene was worse than the the fight scene. Chin Wa expresses that for her first collaboration with Ah Lok, at first she thought he was very mean and extreme. Actually he is better than she imagined.

LOVE is rated category III, Ah Lok expresses in the film he actually never kisses, touches or feels Chin Wa. He says, "Maybe the film has smoking and foul language scenes, but the film needs to add in foul language to be more in its spirit." Ah Lok points out that foreign films can say anything, perhaps English sounds better. Chinese foul language ultimately is too appropriate and in depth. Even hearing himself speaking foul language was not easy on the ears.

Although Gor Gor was a superstar, he was not mad at a dancer yelling at him at all. Instead Tin Wa felt very sorry.

He explained, "I am working on the film SHAOLIN (SUN SIU LUM JI), I shaved my head so I am wearing a hat in order to avoid my bald head look taking the focus away while promoting FUTURE X-COPS."

Wa Jai graciously removed his hat at the media's request and displayed the rarely seen bald head. He even said that FUTURE is a good film and hoped that everyone would focus on this film. Director Wong Jing joked that Wa Jai was "Shaolin Future X-Cop". When the Mainland media asked how Wa Jai will celebrate his wife's birthday, Wa Jai awkwardly said, "This is my secret!"

When asked was she like Paw Hee Jing taught since childhood by her mother not to find someone rich? Tang Wei honestly said, "My mama also said that, absolutely not owe anyone a cent and also absolutely not lend anyone a cent. She said women should be independent and have their own jobs. Mama has never taught me anything, she would only do her best for me to see."

Earlier rumored to be married in the U.S., Ronald Cheng Chung Kei and Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin avoided talking about their marriage and instead strangely announced their break up. Yesterday a newspaper found their 2006 Los Angeles marriage certificate and proved that they were already married. They yesterday immediately held a press conference to admit that they were indeed married but now due to an understanding they have broken up and will file for divorce. Cheng Chung Kei who deeply loved Ah Sa emotionally broke down when he talked about them unable to be a couple.

Yesterday at 6:30PM, they held a press conference with several dozen reporters on hand. They first posed for press photos then their eyes did not give the same look. Then Cheng Chung Kei spoke first. He took out the written script and said, "Thank you very much everyone today for coming to Choi Cheuk Yin and my press conference, the marriage is a fact. In 06 we very happily made a decision and received both sides' parental support to wed in Los Angeles. All along, Ah Sa and my attitude to love and marriage has been they were two people's personal matter and didn't need to be publicized. Both sides agreed to this handling method." Cheng Chung Kei pointed out in recent years, the outside speculation of their relationship and the continuous inaccurate reports made them feel that today they must explain to everyone and it is also the final explanation. Cheng Chung Kei continued, "During the several years of our marriage, our lives have been very happy. During this period we grew up together and had even deeper understanding of each other. We realize that breaking up will be better for everyone in the future, so recently we announced our break up to everyone. This reason was made under a sensible situation. This decision is also a fact. I again stress, our break up does not involve any third party. It also does not involve any outside rumored inaccurate reports. I believe the divorce will be the question that everyone will follow up with. This has already been handled. Everything in the legal procedure that we have to do we will do."

Cheng Chung Kei stopped for a deep breath, bit his lip to hold back his tears. Ah Sa saw how he looked and was teary eyed. After around 20 seconds, Cheng Chung Kei sobbed, "Even though......we cannot......be husband and wife, we indeed have had a very happy period." Ah Sa handed him a tissue. Cheng Chung Kei removed his glasses to wipe his tears. He again said, "I even more hope that we can be good friends forever. I really want to thank everyone, and hope everyone would return a little space to us. Thank you." He again removed his glasses to wipe away tears.

Although Ah Sa was teary eyed she was not as emotional as Cheng Chung Kei. She said, "All along with Ronald from when we started dating to marriage to now breaking up, we have a mutual understanding to make every decision. They are the choices of the two of us. Our marriage not only was a decision that we made with a mutual understanding but also received our family and friends' support. All along, we felt this is a matter of two people, we didn't choose to explain to everyone as we felt it was private. We really wanted it to be our little secret." Ah Sa expressed, "All along we thought that we are artists but we can have privacy that belonged to us, but actually it isn't. Artists cannot have existing privacy." She said, "This matter already no longer only involved two people. (Sniffles) It already reached a place that involves many different people and things. All along we didn't choose to publicize because we reached a mutual understanding, because it could protect everyone's relationship, the other party and family. Now it already has caused damage for many people, we don't want to more damages to follow. So we are explaining this matter to everyone, hopefully in the future you will give more space to me and Ronald. We are still good friends, I hope that Ronald and I will be very happy in the lives that follow." Ah Sa also used a tissue to wipe away her tears, then Ronald patted Ah Sa's back and asked whether she had any more to say. Then they stood up together and bowed to the media. They left together. The entire press conference lasted 12 minutes.

Chow Yun Fat has always paid attention to Hong Kong entertainment news. Yesterday Ronald Cheng Chung Kei and Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin's 2006 marriage was exposed, Fat Gor also knew. As for the couple being accused of lying, Fat Gor understood Ah Sa had her reasons. Most importantly was a happy ending. Chow Yun Fat yesterday attended a My City, My Home event and host the unveiling ceremony. Fat Gor expressed that ten years ago he promoted for this event. This time ten years later he was approached to promote Hong Kong again. Fat Gor's LET THE BULLETS FLY will open on October 11. Later he will have to help promoting it.

Earlier Fat Gor once publicly praised Fala Chen. Was she his favorite to win the Hong Kong Film Award for Best New Actor? He said, "I can't say because I didn't see it." Yet on the day of the Hong Kong Film Award he will have to work in Beijing so he will not be able to attend. Fat Gor also said that lately he has been watching the TVB series IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER (CHAU HEUNG LO DIM TONG PAK FU). He joked that he was a television addict. He used to make series for others to watch and now he loves to watch others in series. As for the Johnnie To Kei Fung directed new film, Fat Gor said that the screenplay was not done yet. He only knew it will be a drama that will have to wait for a screenplay and Mainland inspection before production.

Speaking of Ah Sa and Cheng Chung Kei's marital status being exposed, was Fat Gor very surprised that they lied? He joked, "Next time let me tell everyone." As for accusation that they should not have lied, Fat Gor said, "Actually they have their reasons, they seemed to be married in 06. Ah Sa at the time was at the top of her career, she was afraid of losing fans." Would he forgive artists like Andy Lau Tak Wa who lied? Fat Gor said, "I hope for a happy ending for them, they haven't done anything bad. (Do they have to admit it now that they are exposed?)  Should they continue to admit their break up? If so then the real can't be all fake, and the fake can't be all fake either. (Is this phrase very useful?) It seems to fit (Stephen) Chan Chi Wan a little more."
